Bio

Julien is born in Belgium. He studied art at high school and later he obtained a Master of Laws degree at the University of Brussels.

Sport, especially tennis, has always been his hobby. However, when a knee injury in 2004 made it impossible to compete in tournaments, he changed his tennis racket for a digital camera. He joined a local photo club and after some national successes he started to participate in 2006 in international exhibitions. He was more than amazed to win immediately a gold medal in the Biennal Aqüeducte in Spain, a contest with more than 11.500 participating images! This achievement was undoubtedly a huge motiviation to continue and to do even better.

In the meantime, his work has been awarded all over the world and he was distincted by the most important photographic organisations. In Who's Who in Photography (an annual publication of the Photographic Society of America), Julien is listed since several years between the world top exhibitors in photojournalism. In 2011 he was even ranked number 1 in his category. Julien's images are seen around the world on websites and in exhibitions, books and magazines.

Remaining with his former passion, he especially enjoys photographing sports and action.
